Strikeforce, June 6 on Showtime

I’m really looking forward to the Strikeforce event scheduled for June 6, 2009. Main Card (Beginning at 9:00PM – CT): Robbie Lawler (16-4) vs. Jake Shields (22-4-1) – 3X5 – 185Lbs Andrei “The Pitbull” Arlovski (15-6) vs. Brett “The Grim” Rogers (9-0) 3X5 Nick “Bad Boy” Diaz (19-7) vs. Scott “Hands of Steel” Smith (16-5) – 3X5 Phil “New York Bad Ass” Baroni (13-10) vs. Joe “Diesel” Riggs (29-10) – 3X5 – 185Lbs Kevin “Monster” Randleman (17-12) vs. Mike Whitehead (23-7) – 3X5 – 205Lbs Strikeforce has been around for a long time now. In 2006, they started promoting MMA events. They are based out of San Jose, California. Recently, Strikeforce acquired the assets of the now defunct EliteXC, which was owned by ProElite. Because of this, Strikeforce now has television deals with Showtime and CBS. They also acquired the contracts of over 40 EliteXC fighters. Even though the current Champions rarely fight, Strikeforce has been putting on some really great shows. For more info visit...

SR: UFC 2009 Undisputed

I ordered this game on Amazon a couple weeks ago and it was delivered yesterday. I played it for about 3 hours yesterday on the PS3. I lost one fight and it was by submission to Minotauro Nogueira. I knew I would lose that fight because my submission defense wasn’t anywhere close to being high enough to fight him. Anyways, there are a few things that bother me… When in career mode I don’t think the fighters ever get older. I have gone through an entire year of the career, maybe even 2, and my age never changes. Hopefully they will fix that in a later update. As far as I know, I don’t think you can edit the fighting style of your created fighter. I picked boxing for the stand up, but after my first fight I realized I would have preferred to pick kick boxing. And from what I have seen I don’t think you can train your fighter to switch. If anyone knows if/how to change that it would be appreciated. Overall I like the game a lot. I prefer it over the Fight Night games for sure. There is just so much more to it. There is a free demo available too for those of you who would like to try it first. It’s been out for a while...
