I played it for about 3 hours yesterday on the PS3. I lost one fight and it was by submission to Minotauro Nogueira. I knew I would lose that fight because my submission defense wasn’t anywhere close to being high enough to fight him.

Anyways, there are a few things that bother me…

When in career mode I don’t think the fighters ever get older. I have gone through an entire year of the career, maybe even 2, and my age never changes. Hopefully they will fix that in a later update.

As far as I know, I don’t think you can edit the fighting style of your created fighter. I picked boxing for the stand up, but after my first fight I realized I would have preferred to pick kick boxing. And from what I have seen I don’t think you can train your fighter to switch. If anyone knows if/how to change that it would be appreciated.

Overall I like the game a lot. I prefer it over the Fight Night games for sure. There is just so much more to it.

There is a free demo available too for those of you who would like to try it first. It’s been out for a while now.

In my last blog post, Juanus had some questions regarding latency concerns with FiOS. I said I would do some simple ping tests for now to try and give some answers regarding the FiOS latency.

At work (a few miles from my house) we have Comcast business services, so I ran a quick comparison of the ping times on 3 of the speedtest.net servers. My location is Pittsburgh, PA.

I would like to do some more testing, but these are just my initial ping results. I will also post the speed test results below. These tests were all done 3 times on each server and averaged.

As you can see below by the initial ping tests, all of them are in favor of FiOS. This is just a simple test and definitely not 100% acturate but they give a general idea. To get optimal results it would have been best for me to think ahead and get some results from my home before I canceled Comcast. But like I said before, my office is only a few miles away so it should be relatively close to the same.

Frederick, MD server:

Comcast: 38ms (16.6mb down, 1.37mb up)

FiOS: 28ms (14.6mb down, 3.56mb up)

Advantage – FiOS

Greensboro, NC server:

Comcast: 101ms (13.4mb down, 1.85mb up)

FiOS: 89ms (20.2mb down, 4.21mb up)

Once again, advantage – FiOS

San Diego, CA server:

Comcast: 187ms (10.3mb down, 1.15mb up)

FiOS: 179ms (19.87 down, 3.63 up)

Advantage – FiOS

For those reading this, if you have any specific servers you would like me to do ping tests on just post a comment and I will try it on both Verizon FiOS and Comcast Business Services.

I wonder if Apple is going to charge for the 2.0 update like they did the others?

The reason I am questioning this is quite simple… The main new feature is the app store. The app store by design is made so that Apple can make as much money as possible without doing any actual work. The app store will primarily be filled with apps and games by other developers.

So, with that in mind, is Apple stupid enough to charge $20 (or maybe even more) for this firmware update considering the main draw would be the app store which has unlimited profitability?

I was bored the past few days and decided I wanted to buy a few games on PSN. I got Tekken 5 DR Online. Great game for just under $30. And I also downloaded Warhawk for $40.

I have to say I love Warhawk, but I totally suck at it. It seems like every time I respawn (and I do that a lot because of how bad I am) I get killed almost instantly.
Sometimes 32 players, or even 24, seem to be way too many people in a map at once depending on the configuration. Like I said before, I literally respawn and get the **** blown out of me instantly.

I enjoy playing the game for the most part but it seems to be really frustrating that sometimes no matter what I do I get raped from all angles. I thought I would get better but my ratio seems to be getting even worse. I get a decent amount of points but I can’t seem to kill many people at all. Something about the control configuration seems too weird to me. I guess I’m just too used to playing UT3.

Anyways, off to play some more. If you have the game add me (StevoFC) to your list. I’d be an easy opponent to pad your stats a bit.

This bundle retails for $79.99 at most places and Amazon.com had it on sale for $64.99. I thought to myself well why not just get the bundle then? The camera itself costs $39.99 so the fact that I was getting the camera and the 12 month subscription sounded great. But that wasn’t it… The bundle also comes included with 2 arcade games, an extra Live headset, and 200 Microsoft Points. Purchasing all of these things seperate would easily cost over $110 so the $65 i spent on it was well worth it.

Now a little about the Camera itself…

From what I have noticed the quality is pretty good considering the price. Once thing I don’t like very much, but makes gaming with it much easier, is the fact that when you see yourself you are always mirrored. You can use the camera to take a personal pic of yourself that will show to people on your friends list if you want rather than just using a generic gamer picture. Obviously when you take photos or do a video chat the image is normal to those viewing.

Another cool thing about the camera is the fact that you can attatch it to your computer and use it at a webcam. Hopefully they will add more games that use the Vision Camera because TotemBall is only entertaining for about 10 minutes as you try and figure out what the hell you are doing.

For right now I have to give this whole bundle a rating of 4 Stars because of it’s great price and because of the potential of the camera.
