SR: UFC 2009 Undisputed

I ordered this game on Amazon a couple weeks ago and it was delivered yesterday.

I played it for about 3 hours yesterday on the PS3. I lost one fight and it was by submission to Minotauro Nogueira. I knew I would lose that fight because my submission defense wasn’t anywhere close to being high enough to fight him.

Anyways, there are a few things that bother me…

When in career mode I don’t think the fighters ever get older. I have gone through an entire year of the career, maybe even 2, and my age never changes. Hopefully they will fix that in a later update.

As far as I know, I don’t think you can edit the fighting style of your created fighter. I picked boxing for the stand up, but after my first fight I realized I would have preferred to pick kick boxing. And from what I have seen I don’t think you can train your fighter to switch. If anyone knows if/how to change that it would be appreciated.

Overall I like the game a lot. I prefer it over the Fight Night games for sure. There is just so much more to it.

There is a free demo available too for those of you who would like to try it first. It’s been out for a while now.

SR: Galapagos, The Islands That Changed the World

This is another long overdue Stevo Recommends post.

This time I would like to recommend Galapagos: The Islands That Changed the World on Blu-ray.

“The inspiration for Darwin’s theory of evolution, the Galapagos Islands are a living laboratory, a geological conveyor belt that has given birth to and seen the death of many species of plants and animals.”

It is an amazing documentary. The video quality is amazing, and there is so much to be learned from it. The blu-ray is a single disc that has 3 seperate episodes from the BBC series. It is unbelievable how these islands are created and how the animals vary from island to island.

This documentary kept my attention from start to finish, and I learned a lot from it. So, I highly recommend it.

Here is something new to my blog…Stevo Recommends.

Each week I plan on recommending something that I really like. It could be music, and movie, electronics…something.

These posts will start with SR: to make them easy to differentiate.

So the first post in this section goes to Bob Marley, more specifically the 2 CD set “Gold”

I recommend this set to any Marley fan. It has so many great songs on it.

Here is my favorite song off of the CD. It is the best version of “Concrete Jungle” i have ever heard. Enjoy…
